LET IT GO

Why Let it go? Some readers reading this might have this question in the head. We can’t let go of every single thing. My answer to all the readers who are thinking this question in their brains is very simple. I partially agree to you that you can’t let go of everything but you can let go of some things which you have been holding in your heart for a long long time.

We face so many problems in our day to day lives and hold on to minor or major things or previous griefs. Although we act in front of the world that we have moved on and its not affecting us anymore. However some where down the line it is affecting us and we know that. You can lie to the world for once, can you lie to your inner self? No,right. I agree that the situation you are currently in is very complicated and nobody can be in your shoes and feel your pain. But the more you hold on to things in your heart, the more heavier you feel on the inside. We all have our good as well as bad times in our lives. Remember you are the person who has fought with the problem so bravely and has reached this point. I know its not easy for you. Just take a minute and ask yourself this one question, “Can I go back to the past and change the situation?”. You will get an answer from your inner self by asking this question, the reason you should let it go.

The choice lies in our hands, either let it go and feel happier, lighter on the inside or let it be inside you forever and you feel sad whenever you think about it.

What happens when we let go? It feels lighter on the inside and you feel like somebody has taken a heavy weight which was placed on your heart. You boost your self-confidence and your heart is again filled with hope.

The message I am conveying through this blog is don’t let things stay inside you. Just let it go and you will witness the changes happening in your life.

And if you have survived till the end. Here’s your reward.A quote by Tony Gaskins:

“If you can’t do anything about it

THEN LET IT GO.

Don’t be a prisoner to things

you can’t change”

  1. Although sometimes I really hate the “let it go” song…it’s the key…letting go of things, which are occupying ones body & mind is the best one can do. Thanks for sharing your lines.

  3. Let it go… Well Said Simran… It is okay to let go of some things, we can’t hold onto everything, everytime… sometimes letting it go works better than holding it.✨✍️ Brilliant quote from Tony Gaskins ✨

  4. Wonderful post!

I had a lot to let go in my life, my mental health and healing depended on it.

Some of the things were easy to let go, a relief to let go.

Other things didn’t want to go easily as it felt like the person who had committed those abuses would get off too lightly. They needed to suffer for what they had done to me. It took me a long time to realize that I wasn’t making them suffer by allowing myself to be tortured by the memories.

Still, letting go didn’t happen with that realization. My healing needed more. It needed compassion. It needed grace. It needed approval.

My healing ended me to provide all of these things to myself, for my abuser certainly wasn’t going to, not did anyone else!

Yes, some people tried, but their good words only penetrated so deep, not deeply enough!

It was when I learned that I’d need to give myself those gifts! But how does a person do so when they’ve been abused and have no idea how?

In my healing I didn’t start out trying to give myself those gifts, they seemed impossible!

I started with speaking words of encouragement to myself to start to feel positive. Then I spoke gentle affirmations to help myself to learn to like myself! It was a gradual process!

On the journey I learned to give myself those gifts and only then was I able to let go of those terrible memories for I had come to a point in my healing that I had learned that my abuser was herself very damaged.

I learned that damaged people hurt others, healthy people don’t!

    Blessings to you!

No one in this world can be in your shoes and feel the pain you had to go through.
But it was all woth it.
You let go of things and gavae all those gifts to yourself.
I am inspired by you and also thankful to you.

  5. I have never related well to the phrase “Let it go.” Once the experience is entered into the Thought Stream the best thing I can do is redirect attention away from it. if done enough times the impact of the experience lessens and it rises less often. How long that may take has to do with the degree of emotional impact from the initial experience. I enjoy your most positive encouragements. Thank you so much.

  6. This is such a great post! I couldn’t agree more. Letting go could be tough but once you let go of the things that weigh you down and are out of your control, you’ll definitely feel so much lighter! 🙂
